Arkansas Volunteers Rescue Victims of Florence

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Volunteers with the Rogers based Sheep Dog Impact Assistance Disaster Response Team are in the East Coast helping with relief efforts as Florence wreaks havoc.

The group posted on its Facebook page that crews are in Lumberton, North Carolina.

The disaster response team rescued 14 people from their homes and evacuated one low-income neighborhood on Saturday night.

The group is preparing for more rescue efforts Sunday, September 16.

SDIA loaded up a crew that left for the East Coast on Friday.

A second unit of volunteers will leave tomorrow.

Sheep Dog had over 4,000 members deployed to Houston for Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and are expecting the same amount of participation this time.
