Several Conway families are hoping to find their priceless belongings, stolen from their storage units Thursday night.

A couple of boxes of clothes and toys was all Dawn Howell and her family could find. Howell, her husband and their five children spent hours searching through the Conway house and shed where some of their belongings were stashed, after someone broke into the family’s storage unit.

“I don’t like seeing my kids like this and they know we’re missing family stuff,” Howell said.

The thieves got away with TV’s and speakers, but Howell says it’s the boxes with pictures of her kids, ages 4-10, that she just wants back.

“Stuff that can’t be replaced is what’s missing,” she said. “All their first Christmas ornaments are gone, all their Christmas stockings are gone.”

Surveillance video from Downtown Self Storage in Conway show at least two men pulling in, then breaking locks and searching 5 units.

Conway Police say one of the men involved is 27-year old Dustin Beard. Officers arrested Beard at a house in the 1000 block of Walkins Street, where they found some of the stolen items. Beard has been charged with theft by receiving.

Angel Baskin didn’t have much success as detectives helped her family recover what they could from the house. Baskin says the one thing she’s holding out hope for, is the memory box of her son who died at birth.

“I will never get to see him again,” Baskin said. “That’s what I had. The clothes he had on are gone, I don’t get that back.”

As the search wrapped up, the worst part came for Howell, as her 8-year-old daughter realized what was taken may never be found.

“This is what hurts me cause it’s my kids stuff,” she added.
