LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A feeding program to provide meals for furloughed federal workers that was started in Washington, DC is now stretching to Little Rock.
Chef José Andrés started his feeding program by opening an emergency kitchen.
A Twitter post on Tuesday revealed he has taken the program nationwide with the help of food truck operators across the country.
Here’s what the Little Rock chef who’s joined the effort posted to his Twitter:
#LittleRock and #CentralArkansas – I have been activated by @chefjoseandres and @WCKitchen. Starting Wednesday 1.23 we will be slangin hot chef made meals free of charge to furloughed federal employees and their families. I will feed you every day until you get another paycheck.— Pounders. That tweet was followed up with another one asking for volunteers to help:
