NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – “I miss him a lot, he was my best friend. We did everything together. I miss him a lot, but life goes on,” Rodrikques Lipkins Jr said.
A North Little Rock family is praying for answers and closure in their loves one’s homicide case.
Rodrikques Lipkins, 34, was shot and killed outside his relative’s home in North Little Rock back in June of 2015.
Eleven-year-old Rodrikques Lipkins Jr. had to deal with the loss of his dad.
He says the first two years were extremely hard, but not a day goes by when he doesn’t think about him.
He’s remembering his best friend through pictures and their love for music.
Lipkins Jr. is now 15-years-old. He remembers making music videos with his father.
“That was real fun right there, that was my first time actually being in a real music video,” Lipkins Jr. added.
Fast forward four years later, the teen is now remembering his dad through pictures.
“He was my best friend. We did a lot of stuff together,” Lipkins Jr said.
The family says someone shot Rodrikques Lipkins and robbed him outside a home on North E Street.
“I was hurt. I didn’t know what to think. At first it was too much to take in,” Lipkins Jr said.
His father died at the hospital.
Junior’s grandmother, Mattie Askew, says another year has passed and police don’t have a suspect.
“Still ain’t nobody saying nothing, still ain’t nobody saying nothing. I’m tired of being disappointed with that word it’s somebody out there. They know who they are and they know what they did,” she said.
The family just wants to know why someone would take their loved one.
“I miss him so much I wish I was next to him,” Askew continued.
“Justice will be served, that’s all I have to say,” Lipkins Jr. said.
Askew says it’s tough on her and she gets sick when she has to visit her son’s gravesite.
Since he passed she’s been on dialysis three times a week.
North Little Rock say they’re still investigating the case.
