LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – An 18-year-old Central High School student and father was shot dead in southwest Little Rock last September. His family — and police — say they have a good idea who the killer is, but their hands are tied.
“Very frustrating,” Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) Officer Steve Moore said. “You have a good idea who committed the crime, but you still have to prove it in court.”
A frustrating roadblock in Ketrevian Gordon’s case is the reason the person who shot and killed him has been roaming free for more than nine months.
“We need a witness who can put that person of interest in the place at that time,” Officer Moore said.
On the evening of Saturday, September 10, 2016, Ketrevian was reportedly on his way to meet up with someone whom he had been in an argument with. He never made it. Police found him in the parking lot of the Cedar Ridge West apartment complex around 8 p.m., shot seven times.
Officer Moore says, in this particular case, they believe it’s clear who fired those shots, but because no one has come forward as a witness, there’s no way to prove it.
The LRPD developed a person of interest in the case, but could not charge that person with any crimes because no one would talk. As a result, Ketrevian’s young daughter, fiancée, and the rest of his family may never truly find justice for Ketrevian.
