A man the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) says is a Pine Bluff police officer has been arrested for felony theft.
The LCSO says 24-year-old Cody Wayne Cummings was arrested just after noon on Thursday in connection with thefts that occurred in Ward and Cabot in early February.
Investigators received the theft report on Feb.2 from a home on Evans Road in Ward, and further investigation revealed property that was taken from a residence on Highway 38 and another home in Cabot.
Cummings was arrested Thursday afternoon at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in Camden without incident.
He faces residential burglary charges along with felony and misdemeanor counts of theft of property.
Cummings was taken to the Lonoke County Detention Facility in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
LCSO says Pine Bluff Police Department’s internal affairs assisted with the investigation.
