Man Accused of Trying to Hit Wildlife Officer with Car Surrenders

MARIANNA, AR — A man accused of trying to run over an Arkansas Game and Fish Commission wildlife officer has turned himself in.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), 26-year-old Levi C. Wilson, of Marianna, surrendered to authorities Thursday afternoon.

Wilson is accused of trying to run over the officer after firing at a decoy deer before the sun came up on Nov. 9. The wildlife officer fired his weapon into Wilson’s vehicle, but did not hit him. The suspect then got out of the car and disappeared into the woods.

LCSO says Wilson has been charged with several felonies, including aggravated assault, felon in possession of a firearm and fleeing an enforcement officer, as well as several hunting-related offenses.

He is being held in the Lee County Jail on $120,000 bond.
