Man Arrested After Springdale Park Stabbing

SPRINGDALE, AR (KNWA) — A man is facing felony charges after police say he stabbed another man at a local park.

According to a news release, a man and a woman were riding bikes Sunday afternoon on the Razorback Greenway Trail when they rode into Luther George Park.

That’s where they ran into the woman’s estranged husband, Melvin C. Nalley, 35, who pulled a knife and stabbed the man in the lower back area.

The release states that a bystander pulled Nalley off the man and took the knife away from him. Nalley then ran from the scene.

Police later arrested Nalley at a hospital emergency room where he was seeking medical treatment unrelated to the fight.

The victim’s wounds were not life-threatening.

Nalley faces a first degree battery charge.
