LITTLE ROCK, AR – A man involved in a marital dispute brought a gun to the Department of Finance and Administration building across the street from the Capitol Friday morning.
According to the Capitol Police report, Araby Branch went to the DFA building on 7th Street at the request of a woman who works there, Kristin Staggers. Apparently, Staggers’ husband and Branch’s wife had been having an affair.
Eventually, both couples got on scene. According to the report, the two women got into a fight that gave both cuts and scratches on their face.
Capitol Police, in their narrative, described Branch as being combative. He was handcuffed and his car was searched. In the glove compartment, police found a handgun.
Branch was arrested and charged with carrying a firearm on state property.
