SHANNON HILLS, Ark.- A man has been shot by an officer in the Shannon Hills community in Saline County.
Shannon Hills police have confirmed a man was shot at a home near the intersection of Red Hawk and Falcon Crest around 9:15 p.m. and has been taken to a hospital.
Police say the officer initially responded to a 911 call regarding a disturbance.
The officer involved may have been struck by an object before firing his weapon.
He was treated on the scene for a minor head injury.
There is no word yet on the condition of the man with the gunshot wound.
The officer’s name has not been released, but Shannon Hills police say he has been on the force for several years.
Authorities are not yet releasing any further information.
