LITTLE ROCK, AR – Senator Mark Pryor citing his past struggle with cancer in his latest ad in support of the affordable care act.
The two-term senator released the 30 second spot statewide this week, highlighting positive impacts of the health care law, like not being dropped from insurance because of pre-existing conditions.
Ouachita Baptist University Political Science Professor Hal Bass calls it both daring and cautious for talking health care without saying “Obamacare.”
“I think the ad also allows Mark Pryor to bask in the glow of his revered father and connect him with the reputation that David Pryor enjoys among Arkansans, particularly among Arkansas senior citizens.”
Tom Cotton said at an event on Thursday he had not seen the new ad, but maintained repealing the affordable care act is the starting point for long term health care reform.
