Marriage Equality Rally Planned in Central Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, AR – The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday made marriage for same-sex couples legal nationwide, declaring that refusing to grant marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples violates the Constitution.

Human Rights Campaign Arkansas along with other groups are hosting the “Central Arkansas Decision Day Event 2015” at Stickyz Rock N’ Roll Chicken Shack on River Market Avenue later Friday afternoon to celebrate the ruling.

The event’s Facebook page describes the event as follows:

“The event will take place in two parts. First, supporters will gather at the Courthouse in Downtown Little Rock to show our support in solidarity. This rally will be a great way to become a part of the movement for LGBT equality, as you will be united with supporters and allies from all over the community.”

Other town’s around Arkansas that are also holding equality rally’s are Hot Springs and Texarkana.
