Memorial Day Storms Leave Damage Across Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Strong storms that created at least two possible tornadoes Monday night left damage in several Arkansas counties.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock website listed the following storm damage reports, as of 11:30 p.m. Monday.
  • 9:10 p.m. – White County at El Paso. Trees down with part of a roof removed on a home.
  • 8:47 p.m. – Grant County at Sheridan. Several roads across the county blocked by fallen trees. County-wide hail and tree damage reported.
  • 8:22 p.m. – Pike County at Delight. Residence in Delight received minor damage from straight line winds.
  • 7:45 p.m. – Saline County at Hot Springs Village. Widespread trees down across the city with numerous trees on houses.
  • 7:40 p.m. – Scott County at Mansfield. Chicken house blown apart and a barn blown over onto Highway 80. Other wind damage and trees down.
  • 7:40 p.m. – Yell County at Danville. Several roads across the county blocked by downed trees. Five chicken houses destroyed and two houses have trees on them.
  • 7:40 p.m. – Pope County, 2 miles south-southwest of Dover. Ping pong ball size hail reported on Linker Mountain.
  • 7:35 p.m. – Pope County at London. Numerous trees reported down along SR 331 and SR 333 with some damage noted to a mobile home and garage structure.
  • 6:40 p.m. – Yell County, three miles southeast of Ola. Confirmed tornado on the ground.
  • 6:25 p.m. – Polk County at Big Fork. Numerous trees and power lines down. Damage to numerous structures.
  • 5:55 p.m. – Sevier County at De Queen. Numerous trees and power lines down along Highway 71 North and Highway 41. Estimated wind gust of 70 mph. Tree down on car.
