STUTTGART, AR – “It’s like my heart is being ripped out of me,” says Judy Compton, the mother of a missing teen.

The Stuttgart parent was supposed to celebrate her daughter’s 16th birthday on Thursday. Instead, she’s praying Cassie Compton will return home.

“A Sweet 16 is always something special for a girl and I’m not getting to spend it with her because she isn’t here,” says Compton.

Cassie has been missing since September. Police, along with the FBI have been searching for months, without success.

“It scares me. I just don’t see her being out on her own. I just don’t,” says Compton.

On the Facebook page dedicated to finding Cassie, users are holding a candlelight vigil for her birthday. They’re posting photos of lit candles and purple flowers. Cassie’s favorite color.

At the teen’s home, a birthday cake, a candle and an angel box with Cassie’s photo lie side by side to missing person posters. A heartbroken mother prays this birthday is the only one she spends without knowing where her little girl is.

“I just wish you could hear me and know that I love her and that I miss her and I am worried sick,” says Compton.

There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to Cassie’s return.
