POPE COUNTY, AR — A murder trial is underway where the suspect has already admitted to pulling the trigger, saying he believed the victim had molested his 5-year-old daughter.
Jury selection kicked off the trial for Andrew James Cody, who was charged in 2012 with first-degree murder for the death of 65-year-old Lee Britton.
According to deputies, Cody told them he waited in the home of Britton off Shadow Lane in London, then shot him once in the head.
Supporters have backed Cody, calling his efforts to protect his daughter heroic, while supporters for Britton have called for evidence of the sexual assault.
