NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark.–More than a dozen people are still recovering Sunday after a house explosion in North Little Rock. Neighbors are now wondering if their home could be next. That rental home is now a total loss on Haywood Road. Neighbors say some of the victims had just moved in a couple of weeks ago, causing more concern about what caused the explosion. While it hasn’t been confirmed, some neighbors say it could have been a gas leak. It’s something they worry could happen to their home next.

Boarded up windows, and burned garbage cans are what’s left of the house where an explosion left 13 people injured Friday night.

“We were basically just getting ready for bed and I heard a lot of noise and I heard a lot of sirens,” said Aishah Phillips.

Aishah Phillips and her boyfriend live two doors down and heard the aftermath at the home on Haywood Road.

“I came outside and I saw the whole house engulfed in flames and people running outside,” said Phillips. “It’s concerning because we were going to move down there.”

Aishah and her boyfriend rushed to the home. That’s where she says she saw a woman inside crying for her baby. Other neighbors in the area say they  overheard the woman saying she’d smelled gas earlier.

“I didn’t expect that many people to get hurt or if it was happening, because they were partying one second and you come outside, and it’s like fire everywhere,” said Phillips.

As Aishah  holds on to  her loved ones, she’s hopes this the last house on her block to blow up.

“I’m concerned, worrying about who else can this happen to,” said Phillips.

Now , Aishah says that after seeing the aftermath of what happened at her neighbors home, she won’t think twice if she happens to smell gas at her own place.
