LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- A fancy new look facelift has hit the web for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Thursday (6/1).
It’s the latest of several digital advancements the agency has made recently including the ability to get your hunting and fishing permits online. With the rollout of the new website, hunters can also now apply for Wildlife Management Area permits online.
The Commission touts advantages as being able to buy and store your license on your smart phone. If that’s not your thing, you can still go oldschool by going to a traditional sporting goods store or your home to buy and print it out and taking it with you.
“You can keep that in a ziploc bag, a water tight container and keep that handy with you,” suggested Randy Zellers with the Commission. “We’re getting caught up with a lot of other states and a lot of other agencies.”
There have been concerns expressed however, considering the old durable/waterproof licenses are a thing of the past.
The Commission says the little bit of money saved on paper for each license they no longer have to provide adds up quickly for habitat management on the ground.
