NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR — An anonymous tip leads a school resource officer to discover a gun on a student.
It happened Thursday at the North Little Rock High School -West Campus. That student has been recommended for expulsion. The superintendent can either accept or reject the recommendation.
School officials said the gun had no bullets.
School leaders said they did alert parents through the electronic notification system about the weapon on campus.
After getting the tip from a student, the school resource officer and assistant principal pulled the student out of class to ask him about it.According to the police report, the student grabbed his groin area and tried to walk away from school officials.
The school resource officer wrote that he padded the student and felt the gun. When the student tried to break away again, the officer had to handcuff him in order to subdue him.
