FAYETTEVILLE, AR (KNWA) – A Stillwell, Oklahoma man has been arrested in connection to a deadly car crash from over the weekend. On Sunday, Arkansas State Police arrested Benn Garrett, 26, for negligent homicide.
Friday, state troopers say Bounthavy Douangphachanh was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 16 in Fayetteville.
According to the arrest report, Garrett crossed over the center line and hit Douangphachanh’s car head-on. A passenger in Douangphachanh’s car is in critical condition.
After the crash, troopers say Garrett ran and had a friend come pick him up.
Garrett faces charges of negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an injury accident, reckless driving and driving left of center.
