NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – The Austin-based Tex-Mex restaurant, Chuy’s, that opened in North Little Rock in March, presented a check for more than $5,300 to the Boys & Girls Club of Central Arkansas at a ceremony today.

According to a news release, to celebrate the opening of the restaurant’s second central Arkansas location, Chuy’s hosted several pre-opening events and fundraisers. From these events, generous patrons and Facebook fans helped Chuy’s raise $5,309 for the Boys & Girls Club.

“The giving spirit and energy of this community is amazing,” said Dallas Hagar, local owner/operator of Chuy’s North Little Rock. “We’re so thankful for the local support that has made this donation possible for our charity partner.

Cindy Doramus, chief executive officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Arkansas said, “We are moved by the overwhelming support from Chuy’s.”

The Boys & Girls Club provides diverse activities that meet the interests of all youth. The club offers activities in five areas: character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, and sports and recreation.
