LITTLE ROCK, AR- Motorists driving through Little Rock can expect some detours due to overnight construction. Crews are working on the road ways that will require a new detour and lane closure at the Interstate 430/630 (Big Rock) Interchange, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

The northwest and southwest loops, as well as the Markham Street access ramp will be closed. This will be necessary as crews hang new signs above the affected travel lanes.

The detour and lane closure will be Saturday night, June 29th through Sunday morning, June 30th between 11:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., weather permitting.

All southbound drivers on Interstate 430 wanting to go west on Financial Centre Parkway,  east on Interstate 630, or to Markham Street will be detoured to the Shackleford Road overpass (Exit 5). Drivers wanting to access Financial Centre Parkway will turn right (north) on Shackleford Road. They can then turn left on Hermitage or left on Financial Centre Parkway. Motorists wanting to access Markham Street will turn right on Shackleford Road to Markham Street. Motorists wanting to access Interstate 630 will turn left after exiting, cross the Shackleford Road overpass and enter Interstate 430 northbound to access Interstate 630.

Motorists on Interstate 630 westbound wanting to go south on Interstate 430 will drive across Shackleford Road (left turns are not permitted onto Shackleford Rd.) turn left on Hermitage Road, and right on Shackleford Road to Interstate 430 south.

In addition, the outside southbound lane of Interstate 430 will be closed through the Big Rock interchange. For more information, see the attached map of the detour area.

Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
