LITTLE ROCK, AR — A central Arkansas mother and father say their daughter got attacked by a bully on the way to school Monday.
Police reports confirm some type of disturbance related to the matter happened on a Little Rock School District bus.
“They don’t want to talk about the bullying issue, and I’m tired of it,” said Tasha Jones, the girl’s mother.
Jones says the incident happened at the bus stop on Tracy Avenue.
“She went to the bus stop, got on the bus, and he hit her in her face twice,” Tasha Jones says.
Reports show the bus driver called police to handle the situation, which her father says left their daughter with injuries to her face and leg.
“I was upset trying to figure out what was going on, and I still don’t know what’s going on,” DJ Jones said.
The Jones’ say after police got the incident under control, the driver continued on to Central High.
But DJ and Tasha say the school has not given them any information on what will happen to stop the bullying.
“Kids should be able to go to school and get an education, and the school official should be here for you,” Tasha Jones said.
For now, the parents say they are trying to rebuild their daughter’s confidence.
“I just told her to keep her head up, ‘You’ll be OK. You’ll grow out of it real quick,'” DJ Jones said.
The police report is not clear on whether anyone will be charged as a result of what happened.
Fox16 did reach out to the school district for a response, however, emails and calls were not returned.
