FAYETTEVILLE, AR (KNWA) – Police say a Fayetteville man set his own apartment on fire, while high on methamphetamine.

It happened at a complex on Gregg Avenue Sunday night.

According to investigators, Stanley Reed, 56, told them he lit his bedroom on fire on purpose, because he was a “meth geeker.”

A neighbor who tried to help put out the fire was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. There’s no further word on their condition.

Reed faces charges of Arson and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
