SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) – Police have arrested a Springdale man after his two-month-old stepson died at a hospital.
The Springdale Fire Department received a call about 8:17 p.m. Wednesday about a boy who wasn’t breathing. The boy was transported to Northwest Medical Center, where he later died.
The child’s name wasn’t immediately released. His body has been sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab to determine a cause of death.
Police arrested the infant’s stepfather, Tremelle Overton, after interviewing him and the boy’s mother.
Washington County Detention Center records show Overton was being detained there on a first-degree murder complaint. A jailer said she didn’t know if Overton had retained an attorney to represent him.
