CROSSETT, Ark — A South Arkansas father’s worst nightmare comes true, after authorities find his missing son murdered.

Thursday marked one month since Jeremiah Bynum, 24, was last seen by his family.

They said Jeremiah loved to draw, work on computers and life.

So, they said it was unusual for him to not contact anyone for so long.

The Ashley County Sheriff said investigators got a tip Thursday, which led them to Jeremiah’s body in a wooded area Southeast of Crossett.

Authorities arrested his former friend Dillon Melanson, 23.

The sheriff said Dillon and Jeremiah knew each other and Dillon confessed to killing Jeremiah, but have not said why.

Jimmie Bynum, Jeremiah’s father, said there’s not a day that goes by he doesn’t miss his son.

“I do know it’s not justified no matter what it was,” said Jimmie. “I do know it was wrong.”

Jimmie said the family is working on funeral arrangements.

Dillon is behind bars with no bond set.
