LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The U.S. Senate has confirmed the nomination of a Little Rock lawyer to a federal judgeship in the Eastern District of Arkansas.
Sens. Mark Pryor and John Boozman announced Monday that senators took a voice vote on Kristine Baker’s confirmation, which was posted on the White House website.
President Barack Obama nominated Baker in November after U.S. District Judge James M. Moody decided to assume senior status.
Baker is a partner at the Quattlebaum, Grooms, Tull & Burrow law firm in Little Rock and specializes in commercial, employment and First Amendment litigation. She also has served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Susan Webber Wright.
Baker is a graduate of the University of Arkansas Law School and has a bachelor’s degree from Saint Louis University.
