There is an Arkansas connection to the sexual harassment scandal hitting the Herman Cain campaign. A Hot Springs Village woman could change the GOP race for the presidential nomination.
FOX16 tried contacting Mary Ose several times Monday. She did not respond. Ose served as the head of human resources for the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s.
Online media outlet Politico is reporting that at least two women accused Cain of inappropriate behavior when he headed the National Restaurant Association. Politico is also reporting she says her office never investigated any claims, even though Monday Cain says it did.
“When the charges were brought, as the leader of the organization, I recused myself and allowed my general counsel and my human resource officer to deal with the situation and it was concluded after a thorough investigation that it had no basis,” said Cain Monday.
Now, Cain wants his supporters to know the allegations are false.
“I never sexually harassed anyone, and yes, I was falsely accused while I was at the National Restaurant Association, and I say falsely because it turned out after the investigation to be baseless,” he says.
When Politico got ahold of Ose on Monday and read what Cain said about her, she denied he said that and hung up.
In an interview with Fox News, Cain said he only knew of one complaint and knew nothing about any cash settlement.
Later, in a separate interview with Fox, Cain then specifically recalled a settlement saying he didn’t remember the number, but it ended up being maybe three months salary.
