CLEBURNE COUNTY, AR – Cleburne Co. Judge Jerry Holmes has confirmed that County Clerk Dana Guffey plans to resign from her job in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on same-sex marriage.
Judge Holmes says that Duffey plans to resign on Tuesday. Holmes has called for a Tuesday meeting of the quorum court to formally accept the resignation.
The court will appoint a replacement in the future.
Guffey was not immediately available for comment.
