LITTLE ROCK, AR – U.S Senators from Arkansas Mark Pryor and John Boozman reacting to the attacks.
Senator Boozman says he supports what the president is doing in Iraq.
Senator Pryor says he’s concerned the situation could escalate and lead to heavier military involvement for the U.S.
Both senators agree the president should work with congress before making any further decisions on military involvement in Iraq.
“They’re in the process of trying to literally eradicate a group of people and particularly heavy handed against Christians,” said Senator Boozman.
“Since this was humanitarian crisis, you have this religious crisis, you have this religious minority that is basically under seize on this mountain,” said Senator Pryor.
Both senators concerned about who Isis is targeting in Iraq, specifically the Yazidis, a religious group of Kurdish decent.
