LITTLE ROCK, AR — Another candidate has announced their entry into the race for Arkansas’ second congressional seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Arkansas Rep. Ann Clemmer (R-Benton) announced her candidacy through a tweet on a new Twitter account named “@ClemmerCongress” that read:

“Thank You All! Please spread the word about my campaign fundraising kickoff tomorrow at 6 pm at White Furniture in Benton. #ar2 –Ann”

The hashtag “#ar2” presumably refers to Arkansas’ second congressional district.

The photo on the account sends a less cryptic message that reads, “I’m running for Congress!”

Clemmer served as vice chair of the education committee and was an Assistant Speaker Pro Tempore in the Arkansas house in 2013.

The state representative became the third Republican to announce her candidacy on Tuesday, joining Col. Conrad Reynolds and businessman French Hill.

Former North Little Rock Mayor Patrick Henry Hays is the only Democrat in the race so far, announcing his candidacy last week.
