President Clinton Campaigns For Democratic Candidates

HOT SPRINGS, AR — Roaring cheers as President Bill Clinton took the stage tonight surrounded by his fellow democrats including gubernatorial candidate Mike Ross, Senator Mark Pryor and congressional candidate James Lee Witt.

Witt told the crowd, “We support equal pay for equal work”

Tonight kicked off a weekend democratic political campaign in Arkansas called “Your Vote Matters.”

Hundreds of people showed up to Hot Springs Farmers Market to hear President Bill Clinton speak. The event was open to the public, all you needed was a free ticket to get inside.

Clinton said to a cheering crowd, “Because what people really want is somebody who will lead and do what’s right for the people and work with people across party lines. Isn’t that what you want?”

Democrats are hopeful Clinton’s visit will help bridge the gap in close Arkansas races like the U.S. Senate.

Clinton said, “And Senator Pryor’s first debate with his opponent, his opponent mentioned the president’s name 74 times and mentioned Arkansas 22 times.”

Clinton went on to say Senator Pryor would make Arkansas a priority and he asked the crowd to do the same by voting democrat in November.
