LITTLE ROCK, AR – The winner of the Skills USA Arkansas Baking Competition is now on her way to the national championships.
Wendy Schay, a student at Pulaski Tech in Little Rock is busy practicing rolling dough for eclairs, breads and muffins, making sure the recipes are just right for a first place prize.
Next week she will take her baking skills to Kansas City, a place most widely known for good barbecue.
“I feel comfortable with the material I’m making, I’ve been practicing, I’m just excited to go represent Pulaski Tech,” says Wendy.
Wendy hopes to one day open her own bakery.
Skills USA is a collaboration of students, teachers and industry folks working together to ensure the best students are placed in the skilled workforce.
