Report: 2 Arrested, Charged with Making Meth

GARLAND COUNTY, AR — Deputies with the Garland County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) arrested two people after a search of their home found numerous items used to manufacture methamphetamine.

According to a post on GCSO’s Facebook page, 50-year-old James Howard Overton and 48-year-old Stacy Marie Overton were arrested last week after an extensive search of their property turned up chemicals and other items used to make meth, 2 grams of suspected meth and other drug paraphernalia.

James Overton was charged with manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with purpose to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a drug premise, unauthorized use of another person’s property to facilitate a crime, possession of firearm by certain persons, theft by receiving and another charge out of Saline County.

He remains in the Garland County Jail on $50,000 bond. Jail records indicate Stacy Overton has since been released.
