LITTLE ROCK, AR — At Pulaski Academy Saturday, Riverfest leaders held the final volunteer meeting. More than 4,000 people will give their time this year during Memorial Day weekend for the event.
“Riverfest is a huge undertaking. It’s a master management type situation,” said volunteer Kelly Bass.
More than 18 acts are now confirmed and more are on the way. Festival leaders say the event is a great marketing tool for the capital city.
“We are filling hotels. We are filling restaurants on a holiday weekend when a lot of people may leave Little Rock to go to the lakes. We are bringing them in town,” said Executive Director Riverfest Deanna Korte.
