ROGERS, AR (KNWA) – Police have arrested the teen brother of the boy who was found wandering down a Rogers street this morning.
On Tuesday, Justin Plata, 19, Rogers, was arrested by the Rogers Police Department on a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a minor.
Around 9:45 am the Rogers Street Department found a three and a half year old child walking down the street in the 2600 block of West Magnolia Street. The Rogers Police Department took custody of the child after officers searched the area couldn’t locate the parents.
The child was transported to the Rogers Police Department and the Department of Human Services (DHS) was notified.
The mother of the boy contacted the police department and arrived for an interview with the investigating officer. She told police she had left the him with her 19 year old son while she was at work. The toddler was returned to his mother and no charges were filed against her.
Plata was arrested after an interview with investigators.

ROGERS, AR (KNWA) – Rogers police are investigating after they found a toddler wandering alone Tuesday morning.
Police say they found the 3 and a half year old boy walking in the street in the area of 26th Street and West Magnolia around 9:45a.m.
The child was taken to the Rogers Police Department and his mother was identified about two hours later.
The 3 1/2 year old child was reportedly being watched by his 19-year-old brother when he walked off.
The brother is being questioned by investigators but police say Department Human Services is not taking custody of the child. There are no charges at this time but the investigation is continuing.
