ROGERS (Fox News Edge) — Police say graffiti on the wall of a Rogers gas station bathroom has threatened an act of violence against an officer on New Year’s Day.

On Sunday, Rogers Police Department said they took a graffiti call at the Kum-and-Go located at 1701 W New Hope Road. The graffiti inside the bathroom stall stated, “A cop will be killed New Year’s night in Rogers, AR 12-31-14.” It was signed MS 13, a known gang name.  A picture of the reported threat has been circulating social media.

Police say they have no suspects but believe the threat is influenced by similar threats made several days ago against officers by people in other parts of the country.

“Threats against law enforcement are nothing new. There have been threats against the police from the beginning,” said Rogers Police’s Keith Foster, “I am sure there will continue to be threats against the police in the future. It goes with the territory.”

The department has made a note of the threat and will stay vigilant and alert but said it will “not alter how we do our job.”
