SEARCY, AR – With guns drawn, a special response team searched between Searcy and Romance Wednesday (July 8)  for level 4 sex offender Sean Duffey.

James Gowen said the police presence outside his neighbor’s house off Tater Hill Rd. has been a constant since Tuesday night.

“They had helicopters out here,” he said. “I can’t picture him doing anything to need all that but you never know.”

Gowen said Duffey lived in the area for three years working for the plumber who’s property he lived on. Authorizes tell Gowen his neighbor recently failed to check in with a probation office.

Gowen said his neighbor was always happy to help him but began acting different last week.

“He rolled his car in the ditch and tore it up.”

Kaye Brewer said she knew where Duffey lived but not about his sex offender history.

“I hope they find him like really fast,” she said.

The level 4 designation the highest in state and according to Arkansas Crime Information Center the offenders are highly likely to engage in predatory sex offenses.

As the special team tracks down Duffey, Gowen hopes for the best for his good neighbor now wanted by authorities.
