PULASKI COUNTY, AR – Throughout the past several days hundreds of volunteers looked for any signs of missing real estate agent Beverly Carter.
Today they’re working to cover more ground as they continue to check for updates on the investigation.
Multiple agencies across central Arkansas joined volunteers searching from the sky and on the ground. Those leading the search say they covered close to 20 square miles over the past few days. Along with checking fields and bodies of water, crews also looked through abandoned buildings in the area.
After hearing of the suspect’s arrest today Beverly’s husband Carl Carter said there’s some relief. Carter doesn’t recognize the suspect but he’s hopeful he will lead deputies to his wife.
“It’s so miserable knowing that we can’t do anything other than what we are doing I’m hoping and praying to God and I feel that Beverly is still alive,” says Carl Carter.
While investigators will not comment on any evidence found during the search, volunteers feel thankful they could help in this effort. And the volunteer coordinator says they’ve covered all the land they set out to search.
