SPRINGDALE, AR (KNWA) – Springdale police say a convicted sex offender lied about his whereabouts and was living near an elementary school.
According to investigators, Michael Tripp was pretending to live in Pine Bluff, but was really living at a home on Lodi Terrace in Springdale. The home is less than 1,500 feet from Harp Elementary.
Police say Tripp is a level three, or high risk, sex offender. His criminal history includes possession of a handgun on school property.
He’s being held in the Washington County Jail.
