SHERWOOD, AR — The Sherwood Animal Shelter says it has no more room to take in cats or dogs.

The shelter said spring and fall were common times for overcrowding in shelters across the state because those were breeding seasons. That was why they were urging pet owners to get their animals spayed or neutered.

“Having one litter, you would think that wouldn’t matter. But that one litter is adding to the overpopulation problem,” said director of the shelter, Robin Breaux.

To encourage people to adopt a cat or dog, the shelter is having a $5 special that comes with their first shots.
