NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR — Thursday, McCain Mall security keeps watch over the flock of shoppers inside and outside. For those completing their last minute shopping list, safety is the number one concern after last night’s shooting.

“It’s really a scary situation. People just can’t go out these days. You never know what is going to happen. It’s crazy.” said shopper Myrtle Davis.

The crime around seven when the victim says he was walking with his friends in the mall when four men started staring at them. The victim then asked what the men were looking at and whether they wanted to box.

That’s when the argument moved outside where the victim was shot in the chest. Some shoppers say the crime reminds them to always be alert.

The victim is okay, but the shooter is still out there.
The safety and security of our shoppers, retail tenants and employees is and always has been our top priority.

This is an isolated incident and we maintain a close working relationship with the North Little Rock Police Department to ensure that the appropriate security measures are being taken to help provide and maintain a safe environment at our mall.

Since this is under investigation by the North Little Rock Police Department, I am unable to answer any questions regarding this incident.
