ENGLAND, AR – A North Little Rock man is hospitalized after allegedly shooting himself when law enforcement officers tried to arrest him Thursday in Lonoke County.
Lamar Moore, 26, had been sought by police after being accused of impersonating an officer.
The Arkansas State Police (ASP) says it’s investigating Thursday’s shooting incident in England. It happened as federal, state and local law enforcement officers tried to take the wanted fugitive into custody.

In addition to the impersonation charge, Moore was wanted by Little Rock Police in connection with incidents of aggravated robbery.
Initial reports state that Moore walked up to the task force with a gun to his head, lowered the gun, and then pointed it at a task force officer. At least one task force member fired at Moore, who ran into the house.
Officers reported to ASP that after that a shot was heard inside the house. A preliminary investigation indicates Moore shot himself.
Moore was taken to a North Little Rock hospital where he remained early Friday afternoon. There was no word on his condition.
