LITTLE ROCK, AR — People from across the Natural State joined lawmakers at the capitol on Thursday as part of “Kids Count” day.

Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families (AACF) hosts the event every year, letting students participate in the legislative process, meet their representatives and learn more about the political process in our state.

“We are here today, in fact, because we are concerned about the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness for our children and future generations,” said Rich Huddleston, with AACF.

Speakers also addressed the importance of after-school programs and juvenile justice reforms in Arkansas.
