Students return to school after Prescott shooting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After Monday’s shooting at Prescott High School students and staff return to class for the first time today.

Some came just to pray then return back home. Police made their presence known on campus and the parent drop off line is back to normal.

But some parents are not feeling the same after Prescott school officials say an 8th grader shot another student Monday in the hallways.

“She thought it was April’s fools day so it was a joke,” says Lucille Johnson.

Lucille Johnson says she was nervous to drop her students off. She says her niece was there with the student who was shot.

“She’s been up all night tossing and turning because of what happened,” says Lucille Johnson.

With a look at the law enforcement presence around the school, Lydell Hopson said he wasn’t worried dropping his student off.

“The Prescott police I have confidence in them what they’re doing too because it was settled real quick,” says Lydell Hopson.

As they both drive out of the parent line they both agree-

“Keep Prescott in your prayers, continue to pray for us.”

“I pray give it to the lord and let him deal with it.”

Police say they are out just to make their presence known, and get everything back to normal as quickly as they can.
