Suspects Found Hiding in Bushes Charged with Burglary, Battery

BENTON, AR — Officers with the Benton Police Department (BPD) arrested two men on battery and burglary charges after they were found hiding in the bushes.

BPD says officers were responding to a suspicious persons call near South Market and Jackmon Streets shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday, when they found 31-year-old Christopher Tucker and 33-year-old Thomas Tucker, who had been hiding in the bushes near a house in the area.

A man told police that the two men had broken into his home and attacked him, according to BPD. He was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

After an investigation, Christopher and Thomas Tucker were arrested and charged with residential burglary and third-degree battery.

Christopher Tucker was also charged with public intoxication.

BPD says the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges could be forthcoming.
