Teddy bear helps traumatized kids

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Thousands of stuffed animals are now in the hands of sheriff’s deputies and available for children exposed to traumatic situations. This is the thirteenth year for what is called the “Teddy Bear Run”.

The motorcycle run left Landers Harley Davidson at about 12:30 p.m. and arrived at the upper front parking lot of the Pulaski County Detention Facility (3201 W. Roosevelt Road) about 15 minutes later. Sheriff Holladay welcomed the riders and helped unload the teddy bears with the help Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Deputies.

Each spring the Ladies of Harley sponsor and conduct this fun motorcycle run. They bring with them thousands of teddy bears that are donated to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies then use the stuffed animals to help calm and relief the stress of children they encounter who are subjected to difficult experiences.
