Tim Griffin Responds to Protestors Asking Him to Avoid Government Shutdown

LITTLE ROCK, AR — An op-ed piece in the Wall Street Journal written by Rep. Tim Griffin’s former boss Karl Rove is creating a bit of a stir in the Natural State.

Some Arkansas citizens delivered copies of Rove’s op-ed piece, which they say urges the congressman not to shut the government down, to Griffin’s office Thursday morning. Arkansas Democrats say the citizens delivered the letter after Griffin voted for a Republican plan that would “likely result” in the government shutdown.

Griffin responded with the following statement:

“Nancy Pelosi’s protesters apparently haven’t been watching Fox 16. If they had, they would know I oppose a government shutdown and believe it would be bad for Arkansas and waste hard-earned taxpayer money. President Obama refuses to negotiate and Pelosi says there’s no waste in Washington. Now that’s something to protest.”

Griffin’s office also released a video in response, which can be seen below, or by clicking here.
