Traffic Stop Ends in Arrest for Benton Forgery Suspect

BENTON, AR – A traffic stop in Benton on Friday evening ended in an arrest of a suspect that was wanted on forgery charges.

At 6:30, an officer pulled over a vehicle in the 800 block of Cole Drive that was driven by Kevin Langley, 30.

After running the driver’s license, it was revealed that Langley had an active warrant for his arrest in Benton. According to a report he was then placed under arrest and taken to the Saline County Detention Facility.

Langley is charged with six counts of forgery that stem from a case detectives worked earlier in March where police say Langley stole several checks.

On March 6th, officers took a report from a victim who told them several of their stolen checks had cleared the bank.

After investigating, detectives were able to put out a warrant for Langley’s arrest. This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible.
