BENTON, AR – A Benton woman is behind bars on drug charges after being pulled over for a traffic violation on Saturday night.
Just after 10, an officer with the Benton Police Department pulled over a vehicle for driving without lights on Magnolia Street.
The officer spoke with the driver, Sarah Stanart, 40, of Benton, and two passengers in the vehicle. When the officer checked Stanart’s license, they were able to see that Stanart had an active warrant out of the Bryant Police Department.
The officer also discovered a plastic bag filled with what appeared to be meth along with a syringe that was loaded with a clear liquid, which was also believed to be meth.
Stanart was then arrested and taken to the Saline County Detention Facility. She was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Additionally, a hold was placed on Stanart for the warrant out of the Bryant Police Department.
