MAUMELLE, AR – Two Memphis men are jailed in Little Rock after Maumelle Police pulled over an ambulance and reportedly found marijuana and a number of marijuana-infused items inside.
Jarrett Hamilton, 29, and Nelson Giles, 25, are being held in the Pulaski County Jail on a string of charges.
The arrest report lists both men as EMT’s with a Memphis ambulance company.
Maumelle Police say one of them told officers they bought the ambulance in Montana and stopped in Denver on the way back home. That’s where Giles told police they bought the pot products.
The list of items found inside the ambulance included: cannabis infused oral spray, pot corn, and green marijuana cigars.
The traffic stop was made shortly after 2 this morning near a Shell station on Hwy. 365 North. That’s where a patrol officer had spotted the unmarked ambulance with no license plate, became suspicious, and called for backup.
The officer arriving to provide backup pulled over the ambulance after it drove out of the gas station. A search followed, which led to the arrests.
Hamilton and Giles are both charged with 5 counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and 5 counts of delivering, possessing and manufacturing drug paraphernalia or a counterfeit controlled substance.
